- A rare and misunderstood dragon, the zombie dragon is a reliable crowd pleaser. Just be sure to heed the wizard's stern warning to only feed them Dragon Treats. Lest they develop other ... appetites.
- —Nogard's description of the zombie dragon in The Book of Dragons
The zombie dragon's bite is definitely its scariest feature. Instead of inflicting pain, it inflicts a deadly disease known as the Zombie Dragon Sickness, or ZDS for short. This lowers the victim's intelligence and physical strength drastically, and it is highly contagious.
The zombie dragon's elemental breath is less of actual "elemental breath" and more of the dragon vomiting up its internal juices.
- "Zombie dragons are scavengers. Scavengers do not kill their prey themselves. Thus, problem solved."
- —Whitbee, addressing the public's worry about the zombie dragon's diet, specifically his companion, Brainiac
Zombie Dragons feed primarily on dead animal carcasses. Beasts provide the zombie dragon with most of their nutrients, because of their large size, short life span and dense population.
Behavior and Personality
Zombie dragons sleep and migrate in large groups, but often seperate to find food individually. They are unusually hospitable, letting lone dragons into their pack without question.
