- From the Vellum of Visions, An Ode to the Thunderbolt Dragon:
Thunderbolt dragon, cloud striker,
Shepherd of the storms,
The skyscape you illuminate,
The horizon you transform.
Your wings and claws so golden,
Our skies and spirits you embolden.
- —Nogard's description of the Thunderbolt Dragon in The Book of Dragons
Thunderbolt dragons can summon lightning and make the earthquakes whenever they want.
No dragon dares to attack a thunderbolt dragon.
Behavior and Personality
Thunderbolt dragons are proud and quickly enraged. When angry, they often do not rest until the reason of their anger is punished (which usually means completely destroyed). They are also formidably strong and easily attracted by beauty of any kind.

How to care for
Only male thunderbolt dragons exist. While they choose a "lifetime" mate (usually a Bouquet Dragon), they cheat on them a lot of times, regardless of the species of the other dragon and whether or not the other dragon already has a mate. No dragon dares to reject a mating offer from a thunderbolt dragon in fear of punishment. Some say a certain group of dragons (specifically the Thunder Dragon, the Blizzard Dragon, the Storm Dragon and the Tempest Dragon) was made by thunderbolt dragons mating with other species.
