- The majestic panlong dragon originates from the Far East and it's said to only come out of hiding once every twelve years. Though it prefers to be near water, they have occasionally been seen in many other types of habitats. Rumor has it that these dragons are not only a distant cousin of the rainbow dragon, but they're almost as rare too! I wonder if it's a coincidence that they only seem to show up during the year of the dragon.
- —Nogard's description of the panlong dragon in The Book of Dragons
Panlong dragons are very peaceful, and avoid conflict whenever possible, but if completely necessary (as in the case of a female defending her eggs) they will attack with their sharp horns and deadly tusks.
If attacked by another dragon, the panlong dragon can wriggle out of the dragon's grasp with its powerful, serpentine body. However, they are greatly respected among all dragons and rarely are attacked.
Panlong dragons breathe blistering blue fire, infused with a magic which makes burns from the fire impossible to heal except through magic.
Panlong dragons eat small mammals, fish, and Twisted Bamboo. When none of these is around (in extremely rare cases) it can use photosynthesis too.
