|Lunar Eclipse Dragon|
|Rarity:||Not From This World|
- The rare lunar eclipse dragon only ventures from its habitat on the dark side of the moon during lunar eclipses, when it is shielded from the sun's rays. Living in the frigid, sunless, blackness, this dragon is graced with a thick layer of blubber to keep it warm. Although, some wizards have suggested they're just big boned.
- —Nogard's description of the lunar eclipse dragon in The Book of Dragons
Lunar eclipse dragons live on the dark side of the moon but come to Earth during lunar eclipses. When on earth they'll normally live in Galahad Plains.
Lunar eclipse dragons love dark places and refuse to go anywhere with sunlight.

How to care for
Lunar eclipse dragons were first discovered on the moon by Aiden Strongarm. Aiden quickly recognized the dragon he saw as a new species, and attempted to lure it into his spaceship so he could show his discovery to the rest of wizardkind. However, the lunar eclipse dragon refused to enter the well-lit spaceship. Aiden continued on his journey and never told anyone about the strange dragon he found, but he never forgot about it. Much later, during a lunar eclipse, he noticed a lunar eclipse dragon outside his home in the Galahad Plains, chewing on a strange plant. (This plant was later classified as Moonlace by Jack Percy.) At this point, he announced his discovery to the public, naming it a lunar eclipse dragon. He also figured out that lunar eclipse dragons only live in dark places. However, at the time, nobody knew how to simulate the lunar eclipse dragon's dark environment, so the rare dragons never lived in dragon parks. However, when the Rift was opened and Umbramancy was returned to the world, Wizards were able to darken Moon Habitats so lunar eclipse dragons could live in them.
Origin of Name
Lunar eclipse dragons were named by Aiden Strongarm because they came to Earth during a lunar eclipse.
