- The jet dragon was first discovered shortly after the Cataclysm. The wizard Lignius found a smooth, black stone amid the pulverized trees near the Scar. That stone turned out to be a jet dragon egg! This dragon cannot be breed at this time.
- —Nogard's description of the jet dragon in The Book of Dragons
The stone at the end of their tail is heavier than the rest of their body. However, a lot of muscles are in its tail too. All those muscles can be used without requiring a lot of oxygen. So, the tail can be used as a weapon, however it can make the dragon very tired so it is only used in dire need.
The black scales of the dragon are exceptionally durable, allowing it to defend itself well from predators, but it also allows them to camouflage in dark spaces, similar to the dark dragon.
The jet dragon exhales a thick black haze to limit its enemies' vision.
A jet dragon's scales are strong but catch fire quite easily.
Jet dragons prefer to live in dark places, because it offers them camouflage.
The jet dragon eats black stones. However, they can sense what type of stone it is, so they will never eat jet dragons eggs or jet stones.
