- The wizard to discover the ivy dragon wishes to remain nameless, as the whole incident was apparently something an embarrassment. He'd like the record to show that he didn't, as Valefolk reported, "shriek like a baby dragon with its tail in a tangle." But, hey, you would (allegedly) shriek too if you went to repair your cottage and discovered your ivy-covered rooftop was actually an ivy dragon sunning itself!
- —Nogard's description of the ivy dragon in The Book of Dragons
Ivy dragons have a wooden horn and small thorns on their scales.
The ivy like growth on the dragon's back can work as an excellent camouflage. If you would touch their leaf-like scales, especialy the orange parts, even more especially the tooth-shaped orange ones, your whole body would be extremely itchy for a long time.
Ivy dragons are known as amazing climbers, even capable of climbing upside-down without digging their claws in.
They live mostly in the jungles of the Far East.
Ivy dragons mostly live on tree tops, but there were cases that an ivy dragon was founded on walls or rooftops of large buildings, towers, and even some castles.
Behavior and Personality
Relationship to Wizards
Ivy dragons have few contact with wizards, unless humans mistake them for actual bushes of ivy and try to cut them. In such cases, the ivy dragon may get frightened and attack out of fear and self-defense, but will likely flee before inflicting serious injury.
DDLA has ranked them as 2.
When in a park
Generally speaking, ivy dragons prefer or Lightning habitats. Omnitats and Plant habitats will work too but just as long as there isn't a bramble dragon in the habitat as well, as they tend to get tangled in each other.
How to care for
Ivy dragons enjoy the sweet and spicy flavor of the Fiery Figs.
Origin of Name
They are named after there ivy like growth and their ability to climb on walls.
