- The fungus dragons have an interesting trait. They have gills that allow their mouth to expand to fit an impressive number of treats! Reading the notes of the Witch Hyphae, "They're also very friendly and have been known to like people." Wait.. does that say 'lick people'?
- —Nogard's description of the fungus dragon in The Book of Dragons
This small, unobtrusive dragon is not the most impressive looking of dragons, but still is extraordinary and, in a way, beautiful.
The fungus dragon is able to release a thick, toxic gas when threatened. It uses this as a last resort when its cover is blown.
Fungus dragons have extraordinary camouflage. They can adapt the pigments in their skin to match their habitat and grow fungi on their tails and bodies to conceal themselves. They smell just like fungus.
The fungus dragon is poisonous, so are its mushrooms growing on it. These mushrooms are also found in the forest and are named Puffer Mushrooms.
The fungus dragon breathes leaves which also grow on the Flyshroomdendron. In both cases they are extremely poisonous.
Fungus dragons rely on their camouflage to survive and will usually lose in a fight. Some dragons are resistant to their poison gas, such as the Miasma Dragon.
Fungus dragons prefer the very deepest and darkest jungles. They can be found in damp places, unexposed to light, where they can prosper.
Fungus Dragons seek shelter under the leaves of big trees, usually Flyshroomdendrons.
The Fungus Dragon's diet consists entirely of mushrooms, which it cultivates on its body then picks off and eats. This was discovered by the influential dragonologist Callum Dravin, who found it out while studying the dragon in captivity.
