Gleaming crystals, glimmering coins, sparkling jewels - the loot dragon is drawn to every sort of shiny bauble. Most precious of all to this dragon, however, are gems. Folks were a little worried about letting a dragon toss a powerful magic gem around, so the wizards designed a special, magic-free gem just for this dragon. All the fun of a magic gem, with none of the explosive mishaps.
—Nogard's description of the loot dragon in The Book of Dragons

Relationship to Wizards[]

Loot dragons generally distrust of wizards but if you give them a gem, they will begin to like you. In the past, loot dragons were illegally hunted down for the gems they held, as they were used in the Bang-Boom games. Now they have become an endangered species. Loot dragons will attack anyone who comes close to their treasure without permission. DDLA has ranked them as 3.

Loot dragon prefer to live in Treasure habitat surrounded by all of the coins and gems, but can live in Omnitats as well so long as there isn't a clover dragon in the habitat as well.
