- The wizard Guy Gacks, son of Arne, was the first person to discover the dungeon dragon deep in an ancient network of catacombs. The entrance to the catacombs is near a keep on the borderlands between the Sandara Desert and the Drag Marshes.
- —Nogard's description of the dungeon dragon in The Book of Dragons
In appearance, the dungeon dragon is very much the picture that forms in your mind when someone says "dragon."
The dungeon dragons possesses all the classic dragon weaponry: horns, fangs, sharp claws, and powerful tail. they are large dragons and extremely dangerous if provoked.
The dungeon dragon's thick skin protects it from injury.
Like most dark hybrids, dungeon dragons have poor eyesight and navigate primarily by smell. They are known to have high strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom and charisma.
The dungeon dragon breathes a plume of fire.
Dungeon dragons only have basic weapons, and any dragon a bit farther from these dragons natural environment can easily kill it by surprise.
This dragon tends to reside in swampy and desert areas, and will only come out at night, when there are few other dragons awake. It will light a fire in its location, and keep watch of its territory, sometimes causing wildfires. This is rare, however, as the swamp is wet and cannot be easily set on fire and the desert does not have much brush to burn.
This dragon has typical dragon defenses and is very defensive of its territory. You should not attempt to move in its territory without first disabling it. If it spots you before you have disabled it, immediately run away as fast as you can. Do not attempt to engage combat, it will easily overwhelm you.
Be very careful when feeding this dragon, as it is very ferocious and messy when eating. This dragon is a carnivore, and will only eat meat. If it is bothered when eating, it will turn on its owner like a wildcat, and this is obviously very undesirable, so leave it alone if it all possible.
