Bang-Boom is a game played during The Dragon Games. The game looks like ping-pong, but it is played with an enchanted Magic Gem instead of a small ball.

Rules[]

The two players must toss the gem at each other like in normal ping-pong. However, points are not obtained by making the other player miss the gem. The gem is enchanted so it can explode at each moment, and a point is obtained when the gem explodes at the other player's side. Luckily, the explosion is not dangerous, though some ear plugs are required for the players and fans standing very close.

History[]

Bang-Boom was already known for a long time by the people of The Far East. They played it with a small bomb covered by leaves. However, this game was banned for 13 years because the explosion was actually dangerous. It was then allowed to be played again, but with a non-exploding ball, so the players played it with a timer instead. When the timer did go off, the player without the ball at its side won. A bit later, treasure hunter Thatche discovered that loot dragons often play with explosive gems. Thatche stole some and his wife Rudna enchanted them to let them only give a visual explosion, not a physical. Later, these were used in The Dragon Games, but banned after it seemed loot dragons were killed by those who sought out the gems to sell them for high prices. A half year later, though, Mohs (accidentally) discovered how those gems could be artificially made. This same technique is also used (but with the explosion effect removed) to provide loot dragons a gem to play with in parks without a magical explosion (not that it bothers the dragons).
